Drain Testing

Drain testing is the process of ensuring that your drains are working well but also that there are no defects or problems with the structure of them. This is one of the specialist drainage services that Blocked Drains Glasgow offer to our customers.

There are different elements to drain testing that looks at the different potential problems. The main way we inspect drains is with a CCTV camera system that is designed for drain surveys. This lets us see inside pipework underground without excavating large areas. We can see blockages and visual defects in the pipes.

A hydraulic water test can be used to ensure the pipes are watertight. The downstream pipe is blocked, and water then filled the drain until it can be seen at the top end of the pipe. If the water then leaks away, there is some point of weakness somewhere that needs to be inspected and fixed. Dye testing can also be used in some situations such as a basement to find the leak.
